16th Annual Capitol Hill Christmas Tree Lighting

November 26 @ 5:30 pm - 6:00 pm

The magnificent Cedrus Deodora, now 40 feet tall, affectionately named “Sonny,” was planted in 2007 in honor of the Capitol Hill BID’s founding Chairman, George Didden III, who passed away unexpectedly that year. Each year, the tree lighting ceremony brings out more and more community members for what has become a true holiday tradition on The Hill. This will be the 16th year that George’s wife, Kathy Didden, and other members of the Didden family flip the switch illuminating the tree and signaling the start of the holiday season.

This year, an extra special programmed light show presented by Barracks Row Main Street will be debuted at the event and play throughout the month of December.
