Northern Virginia Vacation Bible Schools

First Baptist Church of Alexandria

First Baptist Church of Alexandria promises a week of adventure for your child. Open to all ages, from toddlers to teens. Vacation Bible School will be held July 15th-19th, 2024, and this year, it will be held at Breaker Rock Beach. Registration opens in April. Join them for outdoor and indoor adventure

Alfred Street Baptist Church

301 South Alfred Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314

Alfred Street’s Megachurch membership allows them to run outstanding programming for youth and children. Their VBS is known across the D.C. metro area! It’s free for the entire family – toddlers to adults are welcome! Alfred Street is located in Old Town Alexandria,  though its membership spans the DMV. Plus, it’s intergenerational and family-friendly. VBS dates are TBD, but are always in June.

DC Church

One church and two campuses in Virginia. This year’s VBS is June 17-21 at Deep Creek and July 29th – August 2nd at West Portsmouth. Both will run from 9 AM to noon. Registration opens soon! Check the link for updated details. Learn more about their fun and spirit-filled offerings.

Washington, DC Vacation Bible Schools

People’s Congregational Church

4704 13th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20011

People’s Congregational Church offers Vacation Bible School and a Day Camp. VBS is free and the day camp is $50. There are scholarships available for Day Camp on a first come, first served basis. The Vacation Bible School dates are TBD. People’s Congregational Church is diverse and located in the heart of downtown Washington, D.C.

Trinity AME Zion Church

3505 16th Street NW, Washington, DC

Join Trinity AME Zion Church in July from 6 pm-8 pm for Vacation Bible School. This year’s theme and exact dates are TBD! This is an in-person experience full of Bible stories, learning, music, fun, and visual arts activities. All children and teens from age 4 to 17 are welcome!

National Presbyterian Church

4101 Nebraska Ave NW, Washington, DC 20016

This year’s theme: Scuba – Diving Into Friendship with God. Their VBS is held June 24th – June 28th, 2024 9:30 – 12:30. For children ages four to 5th grade. The littles can expect to explore this theme along with age-appropriate fun activities. 

National United Methodist Church

3401 Nebraska Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20016

The National United Methodist Church is offering Vacation Bible School June 24th – 28th, 2024 from 9:00 AM – Noon. Its theme: “Seekers In Sneakers, Discover Jesus! an interactive Vacation Bible School where children use their investigative skills to discover Jesus.” There is something for children from age four up to teenagers. 

19th Street Baptist Church

Nineteenth Street Baptist offers two programs by age – two to seven and eight to fourteen for their VBS. Known for their vibrant children and youth ministry, your children are sure to be enriched. Dates are TBD.

Capitol Hill United Methodist Church

421 Seward Sq SE, Washington, DC 20003

Capitol Hill United Methodist Church hosts VBS every year. This year they hosted in partnership with Ebenezer United Methodist Church. View the website to discover VBS from previous years. Dates are TBD, but typically the last week of July.

Maryland Vacation Bible Schools

Bethesda United Methodist Church

This week-long Vacation Bible School promises to keep your child engaged and supported. The dates are TBD and this church takes creativity and exploration to the next level. Your child will be focused on community and creativity and will leave with newfound friends!

Olney Baptist Church

17525 Georgia Avenue Olney, MD 20832

This week-long Vacation Bible School is held June 15th -19, 2024, and is held nightly from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Registration is open at the link above. Children from kindergarten to sixth grade are welcome to attend. 

Columbia Presbyterian Church

10001 MD-108, Columbia, MD 21044

This Vacation Bible School is a Christ-centered week of exploration. Children are welcome June 18th—21st, 2024 to engage in community and divine connection. 

Glen Mar Church

4701 New Cut Road, Ellicott City, MD 21043

Located in Ellicott City, MD, Glen Mar Church is hosting Vacation Bible School July 8-12, 2024 from 9am to 12pm. We love a church that can get creative with its curriculum. Integrating science and other core subjects is a win for the child and parents! This year’s theme focuses on an undersea adventure. Sign-ups are available now!

Grace Community Church

Have fun at a scuba-themed week June 24th – 28th, 2024 with adventure, community, and learning. Grace Community Church welcomes this as an opportunity for the entire family. There is a fee of $25 per child between March 1st and June 2nd and $35 per child after June 3rd. Reserve your spot for this family-friendly week of spiritual renewal.
