Old Glory DC: Home Opener MARCH 16, 2024

Old Glory DC, the only professional rugby team in the DMV, will kick off the 2024 Major League Rugby Season with a home opener against the Chicago Hounds on March 16th at 4:00 PM EST at the Maryland Soccerplex, 18031 Central Park Cir, Boyds, MD. Part of the 16-game regular season, the clash against the Hounds will be the first of eight home games at the Maryland Soccerplex in Germantown, a uniquely intimate venue that gives every attendee an up-close view of the adrenaline-pumping action of professional rugby. Old Glory’s 2024 roster features players from 11 different countries, including young stars and returning favorites. The team will unveil new traditions this season including a “Raise the Flags” ceremony, color guard performances, and themed nights at all home matches beginning with Irish Night (March 16th), as well as Star Wars Night (May 4th), and Fan Appreciation Night (June 29th). General Admission tickets are on sale now for $20 with discounts for children and groups available.
Major League Rugby (MLR) represents the highest level of rugby in North America. One of 12 teams in the MLR league, Old Glory DC is led by new Head Coach, Simon Cross, a former professional turned coach. Old Glory’s powerful roster features returning favorites Team Captain Jamazon Fa’anana-Schultz (AUS), Washington DC native Jack Iscaro and Old Glory veteran Danny Tusitala (NZL) along with several new standout players including Rob Harley (GBR), the most capped player for the Glasgow Warriors, and a stacked back three including Damien Hoyland (GBR), who has more than 100 caps with Edinburgh Rugby Club, Axel Muller (ARG) and Perry Humphreys (GBR).
