The Best Sunflower Farms, Fields, and Festivals in the DC Area

0

Our annual guide to best sunflower farms, fields, and festivals in the DC area has arrived!

What could be more glorious than some time spent picking — or even just seeing — sunflowers? Our region has plenty of sunflower-filled locations, great for visiting from now until early autumn. Find fields planted on public lands (no cutting allowed!), at pick-your-own farms, and at all-out sunflower festivals.

If you’re heading out to the sunflower patch, you might want to pack:

  • bug spray
  • sunscreen
  • a hat
  • long clothing (to protect against bugs and sun)
  • a container for carrying flowers home
  • scissors or clippers (some farms don’t provide them)
  • water
  • snacks or a picnic

As with all pick-your-own produce, please call ahead or check the website to confirm times, prices and any site-specific rules.

Happy admiring!
