Traveling with Toddlers: 7 Game-Changing Packing Tips

0

Packing for a trip with toddlers in tow? Fear not, as I’ve got you covered! Recently, I conquered a two week trip to Seattle while traveling with toddlers and compiled a list of my game-changing packing tips. Thank you, Instagram research!

7 Game-Changing Packing Tips

1. Optimize with BabyQuip

Have you heard of BabyQuip? This app, a recent discovery for me, is a true game-changer when it comes to traveling with toddlers. Rent everything from cribs to double strollers, sourced from fellow Moms and have it waiting for you at your destination.

2. Snack Attack

We all know snacks are critical when traveling with toddlers. Here’s an easy way to elevate your snack game: grab an organizer container or a pillbox, add some stickers, and voilà – a snack-filled masterpiece with bite-sized treats. Your little ones can work on their fine motor skills while you savor some extra quiet time.

3. Diaper Dilemma, Solved

Packing diapers for travel can be quite the challenge. Packing two weeks’ worth would have required its own checked suitcase. Consider shipping bulky items like diapers and wipes ahead of time via Amazon, especially if you have family, friends or coworkers near your destination. This not only saves precious suitcase space but also lightens your packing load.

4. Portable Toddler Closet

Say goodbye to the chaos of rummaging through suitcases in search of that elusive pair of tiny socks. Invest in a clear over-the-door hanging shoe organizer and make it your toddler’s new portable closet. Plan outfits, tuck them into pockets, and enjoy instant access at your destination. Simply fill the organizer with your kids’ clothes and roll it up – it only takes up half a checked suitcase, leaving plenty of space for other essentials.

5. Squigz for the Win

Enter Squigz, these suction-cup wonders are perfect for traveling with toddlers. These delightful toys are small enough to fit into a carry-on, making them versatile for various modes of travel. Whether you find yourself on a plane, in a car or visiting family, Squigz offer a magical distraction – if only for a little while.

6. Stay Hydrated

Stay hydrated with a reusable water bottle. Also, say goodbye to leaky juice boxes and hello to powdered electrolytes! Simply toss a packet of Kinderlyte in your kiddo’s water bottle, mix with water on demand, and keep those tiny humans happily hydrated. No more liquid hassle at security!

7. The Almighty Painter’s Tape

Painter’s tape is the hero of toddler travel. I always toss a roll into our suitcase. I use it to childproof accommodations, create impromptu games, or mark special areas for play. The possibilities are endless with this low-adhesive wonder.

Wishing you safe travels! I hope these tips serve to make your next trip smoother than a Metro ride at off-peak hours.  For additional tips from fellow Moms, check out 6 Must-Do Airplane Travel Hacks with Toddler and Family Travel Tips From A Mom Who Travels A LOT!
