The Best Pumpkin Patches & Fall Farms Guide

Fall is one of our favorite seasons! We are fortunate to have so many local farms offering family fun most seasons – but especially in the Fall. Make sure you set aside some time this Fall to support our local farmers by participating in their pumpkin patches, mazes, markets, and festivities!

Our tips for visiting these farms, mazes, and markets this fall: Most farms require RESERVED TIMED TICKETS that are purchased online. Plan ahead for fun this fall! Some farms only take cash. Check with each farm before visiting.
Bring your camera (of course!) and plan to enjoy the farm, market or maze for a while (so bring plenty of water), wear clothes you won’t mind getting a bit dirty, and wear close-toed shoes. Some locations have admission prices and others don’t, but cash at local farms is always a good thing to have. Be sure to check out their website or call for the latest updates and to buy tickets online if possible.

Lastly, have FUN and be safe this fall with your family! These farmers have worked hard to imagine and create these beautiful outdoor spaces and gardens for all of us to enjoy the land with our families!

FarmAtHome offers a cozy, family-friendly pumpkin patch experience in Poolesville, Maryland, perfect for fall outings. Enjoy pick-your-own pumpkins, fun “ag-tivities” for all ages, seasonal produce, and decorations in a serene farm atmosphere. While there’s no general admission fee, certain appointment times require prepayment, which can be fully applied toward purchases. FarmAtHome provides an intimate, relaxed setting ideal for individuals, families, groups, field trips, and parties seeking a low-key pumpkin-picking experience. Pumpkin Patch is open Sept. 13- Nov. 2, Tues.-Fri. 10-5 pm, weekends 10-5:30 pm Admission is $8 on weekdays (free under age 1) and $12 on weekends. No online ticketing. Purchase admission when you arrive.
Visit friendly farm animals, take a cow train ride, or Enchanted Express Train ride. The hayride will take you to the pumpkin patch where you will find the perfect kid-sized pumpkin to take home.  Gem mining and pony interactions, too.

The fall festival is back with tons of ways to have fun. Check out the giant dino slide, hayrides, the cornundrum maze, the barn slide, and so much more.

Pumpkin prices range from $1-$8 depending on size. Private petting/playing sessions with the goats are by reservation only. Visit the pumpkin patch, watch the goats and chickens, and see a tractor. They only take cash or Venmo for admission/pumpkin purchases.

Unlimited hayrides, 20-acre corn maze, jumping pillow, corn cannon, petting zoo, and so much more!

Pick your own seasonal fruits and vegetables on the working farm. Be sure to hop on a hayride to the pumpkin field, get lost in the corn maze, and check out the boo barn, available on weekends.

Hours of operation vary. Admission is a $12 parking fee per vehicle.
A traditional pumpkin patch. Queen Anne Farm pumpkin patch is a family farm experience and has been a family tradition for generations of pumpkin pickers. There are plenty of pumpkins to choose from, apples, fresh cider, pumpkin rolls, fall fresh vegetable and so much more.

Sharp Farm is a 550 acre true working farm. Free hayrides on weekends to pick your own pumpkin. Friendly farm animals & store.

The 12-acre huge themed corn maze is famous throughout the region and there is plenty of other exciting activities such as apple blasting, playing in a Corn Kernel Pit, and picking your own pumpkin in the large Pumpkin Patch.

Open September 27- November 2, daily 9 am – 5 pm. Admission is $15 per person ($12 on weekdays!) and includes a pumpkin and sunflowers. 2 years and younger are free.
Rope cattle, enjoy a hayride, jumping pillows, and slides.
