Meet our August Mom of the Month: Lindsay Gill

Lindsay Gill is a dynamic leader, mom of three, and advocate for mothers in need. She is the founder of the Napkin Network, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that has collected and distributed over 500,000 baby essentials to families across the DMV area. Lindsay launched the organization to ensure moms have free and easy access to basic necessities like diapers, wipes, and formula—resources that can be lifesaving during challenging times.

Beyond her nonprofit work, Lindsay is a co-founder of Next ChaptHER, a community designed to empower women to embrace new opportunities and explore their next phase with clarity and purpose. Next ChaptHER hosts quarterly events that connect, inspire, and equip women to achieve their personal and professional goals.

With a background as a TV producer at National Geographic and 12 years as executive director of a military nonprofit, Lindsay brings a wealth of experience in storytelling, leadership, and community service. She and her husband live in Bethesda, Maryland, where they combine their love of family, giving back, and building their real estate business, The Genau Group/@thegillcollective.

Here is our Q&A with Lindsay Gill

1. Why did you start the Napkin Network?

I started the Napkin Network because I saw a critical gap in support for mothers struggling to access basic baby essentials. As a mom of three, I understood firsthand the stress and uncertainty that can come with caring for young children, and I couldn’t stand the thought of another mother feeling overwhelmed without a support system. What began as a small effort to collect and distribute diapers and wipes quickly grew into a network serving thousands of moms in the DMV area. Our mission is simple: to provide free and easy access to basic baby essentials, making the motherhood journey just a little bit easier.

2. What do you recommend for moms looking to learn about what’s next in their motherhood journey?

Motherhood is a constantly evolving journey, and it’s important for moms to know they don’t have to navigate it alone. That’s why I co-founded Next ChaptHER, a space for women to explore their next phase—whether that means launching a new career, embracing a personal passion, or simply connecting with like-minded women. Our upcoming October event will offer a chance for moms to learn, connect, and leave feeling inspired. I encourage any mom curious about her next step to join us, gain fresh insights, and feel part of a supportive community.

3. Motherhood is a balancing act. How do you stay grounded while managing the many demands of life and parenting?

Staying grounded while balancing motherhood, work, and community service is a daily effort. I rely on a strong support system, clear boundaries, and a willingness to prioritize self-care—even if it means just taking an hour on the tennis court. I also focus on being fully present in whatever I’m doing, whether it’s spending time with my kids, leading the Napkin Network, or hosting Next ChaptHER events. At the end of the day, I remind myself that I’m modeling resilience and purpose for my children, and that keeps me centered.
