Rehoboth Beach is one of my favorite beach getaways. One of my favorite things about DC’s location is that it is only a few hours drive from it too! I have a soft spot for Rehoboth Beach, DE, and I think my husband and kids do now as well. A Rehoboth Beach getaway might be just what you need!
What I love about Rehoboth, besides that it’s only a 2-3 hour drive from the DMV depending on traffic, is that it’s in the middle of the wonderful Delaware shore. Nearby is Dewey Beach and Lewes, which are also amazing locations for families of all shapes and sizes. It’s an accessible area, with beach eats, arcades, breweries, ice creameries, and more. There are activities for big and little kids, water related and not. It’s also affordable. Hotels aren’t super high priced, and there are lots of home and condo rentals for those wanting a little more privacy (which is what we normally do with two small and loud children).
Rehoboth is also a great weekend for the late summer and early fall, when kids are back in school and the high season is over. There is still plenty open with way less people around.
