6 Fun Bath Time Activities for Toddlers

0

Bath time is one of my favorite – and tantrum stopping – activities with my toddlers. Bath time can be any time of day for any reason. Kids don’t need to be dirty. It doesn’t need to be nighttime. Granted, bath time is a great way to wind down at the end of the day. But let’s be honest – sometimes you need something to do. Sometimes you need to do something to stop a toddler from staying in a bad tantrum. Especially in bad weather, bath time continues to be one of our go-to activities.

Here are some ways we mix up bath time to keep making it fun with the best bath time activities.

1. Take a shower!

A shower is a great way to switch it up. Throw some of your bath toys in the shower and let toddlers play. This new experience will also help them get used to water in their face which is so helpful when taking swim lessons

2. Lego bath

Our family loves Legos and they easily dry off after being wet. Throw some in the bathtub and have your kids build a “water tower” or mermaids village. The ideas for lego play are limitless!

3. Glow bath

My personal favorite. Get glow sticks, turn off the lights, and make it a rave. My kids love a glow bath. We usually find these in the dollar section at Target, but other stores have them too or you can purchase them off Amazon. They make for a fun “add on” toy as a gift or a party favor for a birthday party.

4. Color bath

Find some Mr. Bubble color tablets at your local store and do some color mixing experiments! We love to get clear cups and see what happens when colors mix together. There are also crayons for coloring on the walls of the tub which is fun for kids too.

5. Pom Pom Bath

Throw some pom poms in the bath. Is it sort of annoying to clean these up? Yes, but you can use a colander or make it a fun activity for a child to throw it in a bucket. I say just throw away afterward, but you can also let them dry or even put them in the dryer to dry even faster.

6. Popsicle Bath

Popsicles can be messy, so why not each them in the bath? Kids love it and is makes clean up a cinch. It is a win-win and creates true memories!
