National Pancake Day is this month on February 21!
Kids and adults love pancakes — so treat yourself this National Pancake day! Here are the best pancake spots in Northern Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, DC.
1. Ruthies All-Day
3411 5th St. S Arlington, VA 22204
Come visit Ruthies All-Day and try their RAD Apple Pie Pancakes from 7-11 am on weekdays or brunch Saturday or Sunday from 9-3.
2. Original Pancake House
Locations in Maryland and Virginia in Falls Church
Whether you want Georgia Pecan Pancakes, Coconut or Sourdough Flapjacks, The Original Pancake House has something for everyone. They have locations in Rockville, Bethesda, and one in Falls Church.
3. Busboys and Poets
Various locations in the DMV
Visit Busboys and Poets with the kids to try their Sweet Potato Pancakes or Gluten Free Pancakes! Whether you’re in Takoma, 14th and V, or across the river in Shirlington, VA, Busboys and Poets is comfy enough to relax with the kids and grab a coffee for yourself with your pancakes.
4. St. Anselm
1250-1274 5th Street, NE, Washington DC
Stop by St. Anselm for their killer malted chocolate chip pancake with real maple syrup. A recent customer posted on Facebook that they were “the best in the world.”
5. IHOP
Locations vary in DC, MD, and VA
Where else can you get the Rooty Tooty Fresh and Fruity any day of the week? Historically, IHOP has given a free short stack of pancakes on National Pancake Day, so the whole family can celebrate! IHOP has 3 locations in DC, 4 in Northern Virginia, and 5 in Maryland, so your family is sure to find one near you. IHOP also does pancakes to go!
6. Your Own Home
If going out doesn’t work for your family this year on National Pancake Day, pancakes are easy and you can whip some up quickly. You can even try involving your children as you make them. Our family’s favorite is Kodiak Cakes and my kids say they’re just as good as a restaurant! Get those flap jacks flying!
