Outdoor and Indoor Ice Skating Rink Guide

0

Ready for family fun at outdoor and indoor ice skating rinks? Us too! There are lots of opportunities in the Washington, DC, area! Nearly all locations require advanced timed tickets. If you are looking for winter events and adventures outside, bundle up and head to one of these outdoor seasonal rinks or indoor options year-round.

Most indoor ice arenas offer public ice skating, figure skating, hockey, and ice skating lessons. Several places rent a skate helper to assist.

Pro tip: if you feel like you are about to fall, recenter yourself by placing your hands on your knees! We heard this from an ice skating instructor.

What to Bring to Ice Skate with kids:

  • warm clothes (but not a skiing outfit which would be too constricting)
  • jacket
  • tall socks
  • helmet for younger children
  • water
