Moms are always looking for indoor play places – bonus if moms can catch up with each other or enjoy a hot cup of coffee while the kiddos are entertained!
A lot of new play places have opened recently. Here are the newest places you need to know about!

Cozy Village

This place is just what moms need: a cafe and sitting area for moms to chat, work and enjoy coffee and matcha drinks while their littles play in soft play areas, on playsets, read books or play with sensory toys. Play slots are two hours long and play passes start at $15.99. Cozy Village is best for kids up to age six.
Playdate Social at Ned’s Nest
10655 Fairfax Blvd, Fairfax, VA 22030
If you’ve longed to finish a hot meal while your children are in tow, you NEED to check out Playdate Social. This play soft area is located within the Ned’s Nest restaurant, the kid’s menu is just as good as the adult menu, and $7 per child gets you a 90 minute play session. This play area is good or kids up to age 8, and it’s separated so toddlers and little kids have a separate area with their own soft toys and mini slide.
Bluemont Local
376A Calvert Avenue, Alexandria, VA, 22301
This indoor play area has it all – soft playsets, a slide, pretend storefronts and soft toys. The best part? Free coffee and tea for adults! Open play rates start at $22 during the week ($18 for siblings) and $28 on weekends ($23 for siblings).
Mulberry Lane
New location: 1401 Pennsylvania Ave. SE, Washington, DC 20003
Also located at: 2016 Mt Vernon Ave, Alexandria, VA 22301
Mulberry Lane’s first location in Alexandria is so popular, it opened a second location in SE DC! This indoor play area can operate as a drop-off play service because attentive staff members are there to supervise your little, OR you can play with your kids in the play area! Both locations have reading nooks, craft/drawing areas, and mini playsets, toys and pretend storefronts. Working parents can work away from the play area (within supervising distance though) or leave and have lunch, dinner or coffee at a nearby restaurant while the littles play. Mulberry Lane is best for kids up to age 6.
We Rock the Spectrum
New location: 21720 Red Rum Dr Suites 177-182, Ashburn, VA 20147
Also located at: 7601 Airpark Rd Suite E, Gaithersburg, MD 20879
This is one of the best indoor play spaces for all kids – in addition to energy-burning toys like a zip-line, trampoline and swings, there are de-stimulation rooms where kids can play in low lighted rooms with less noise, as well as a craft corner and reading nook. Kids up to age 8 can purchase a 120-minute play pass for $22 (sibling passes are $20).
Play Street Museum
New location: 227 Kentlands Blvd, Gaithersburg, MD 20878
Also located at: 44110 Ashburn Shopping Plz #140, Ashburn, VA 20147
Both of these Play Street Museums are great to foster kids’ imaginations. Walk in, and there are so many toys including a train table as well as pretend storefronts, great for pretend play. $17 per child (babies under a year and over age 8 are free with a paying sibling) can also enjoy craft sessions or slime-making to add onto your play session. And the best part is no meltdowns upon leaving – kids get a token at the start of the play session, and when it’s time to leave, they can trade it in for a snack to take home. Genius!
