Top Recipes for Toddlers and Adults to do Together

0

My toddler loves to help in the kitchen. He loves pouring ingredients, watching the process, and stirring a batter. Baking together is something we both love. I’ve loved watching him blossom and learn new skills. Although he’s still young and won’t remember, I’m building memories and we’re building a foundation to keep this going as the years go on. We’ve now got a list of our top recipes for toddlers and adults to do together.

Some recipes we’ve tried are a little much for him (and me), but we’ve found some that are perfect for both him and me. Here are the top three recipes:

Yummy Toddler Cinnamon Muffins

These are a favorite in our house! There are plenty of ingredients for your toddler to help dump into the bowl, and they can help stir. The recipe itself also has some healthier ingredients while also being sweet enough for the strongest of sweet tooth’s. It’s also super easy to sub out any allergens for alternate ingredients. This is one of our favorites!

Yogurt Cake (from Bringing Up Bebe)

I read about this cake in Bringing Up Bebe years before I actually had children. I knew one day I’d want to try it. This recipe is super simple. One of my favorite parts about it is that you use the yogurt containers as the measuring amount (so when it calls for “four containers” flour, use the yogurt container for measuring!). It makes it really easy for a toddler to be involved. The outcome is delicious! I’d note that the cake keeps better if you keep it in the fridge as opposed to out on the counter.

No Bake Cereal Bars

There are a lot of ways to make this recipe, because you can use pretty much any cereal and binder (like peanut butter or honey). The key here is to make sure you mix together the cereal and binder really well. I love that this is no bake, and my toddler loves eating the ingredients along the way. You can use cereal that is getting old to help not waste sort of stale cereal. You can also use it as a way to introduce some new flavors or allergens. We love doing these and then having them as snacks or breakfast bars.
