Supporting the Communities Impacted by Hurricane Helene

Seeing the devastation throughout North Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, and Florida after Hurricane Helene is heartbreaking. Rainfall, flooding, wind, tornadoes, and thunderstorms wreaked havoc on this area of the country. The impact was unprecedented, severe, and has put a long road to recovery in front of the families and communities who were in the path of this storm. Thankfully, there are many organizations who are supporting the communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. See the list below to find out how you can help!

Donations are being collected to go directly to residents of Ashe County who were impacted by the storm. You can donate online or mail in a check.

2. BeLoved Asheville

BeLoved Asheville is aware that winter is coming and there are many vulnerable families at this time! They are doing everything they can to meet the immediate basic needs of their community while also trying to plan for the long term support businesses, families, and community resources will need. 

3. Black Mountain Home

Black Mountain Home provides care and retreats for foster children and families. In a more remote location in North Carolina, they are asking people to spread the word that they need assistance because they cannot consistently reach out for help. Multiple buildings on their campus were damaged in the hurricane. 

4. Blueridge Waymakers

This is a grassroots team of moms who are doing all they can for their communities. Let’s support mamas who are banding together despite the devastation that’s in front of them! They’re collecting supplies, donations, and completing welfare checks. 

5. Cajun Navy Relief

Collecting supplies and donations to support those affected by natural disasters. After their own experiences with flooding, a group of neighbors from Louisiana formed the Cajun Navy Relief to help others throughout the United States during times like this. 

6. Flight-Based Relief | Hope Mill Inc

Hope Mill Inc just opened applications for those who have been directly impacted by the storm. They have received many applications and are collecting donations to go directly to the supplies that people are requesting to rebuild.  

7. Insulin for Life

Insulin for Life is collecting unused medical supplies for people who have diabetes. Supplies are being sent to people impacted by Hurricane Helene. They are also looking for physicians who can accept and distribute collected supplies.

8. Samaritan’s Purse

Samaritan’s Purse is currently active in seven different communities impacted by Hurricane Helene. Volunteers are working together to meet the needs of each community. Volunteers come around homeowners to help cleanup and rebuild.
