Simple Spring Checklist for Busy Moms

0

After months of frigid temperatures, snow days, and the seemingly never-ending cold/flu cycle, Spring is around the corner. In less than two weeks, clocks will be springing forward, days will be getting longer–and so will our to-do lists. Here is a simple Spring checklist to add to your to-do list that will make the transition into this new season smoother.

1. Clothing Clean-Out

Soon it will be time to put away the winter clothes– and pull out t-shirts, shorts, spring dresses, etc. Pull them out early and see what still fits and what needs to be donated to thrift stores, passed on to younger siblings or friends, or sold at consignment shops. Every year, I am shocked at how short the shorts I just bought are now. So this year, I’m getting a head-start on clearing out and refreshing the wardrobe so the first warm day won’t catch us off guard.

2. Figure Out Summer Plans

If you plan on having your child in camp this Summer, now is the time to make your selection and get ready. In some cases that means waiting for your county’s recreation camp registration day with sometimes two devices, constantly refreshing hoping you get your child registered. Sometimes the intensity is right up there with trying to secure Beyonce or Taylor Swift tickets! Be sure to check out the Ultimate Guide to Summer Camps 2025 for loads of options for summer camps.

3. Get Ready for Spring Sports

If your child plays a spring sport, now is the time to get ready. Schedule those sports physicals, dig out all of the gear from the basement/garage, and pony up your cash for registration fees. You also may to refresh your sports mom essentials.

4. Schedule Appointments

This one is probably a little personal, but if you or your child has allergies, book those allergist appointments now! Of all of the places I have lived, the DC area has been the absolute worst for my allergies. If the Cherry Blossoms have bloomed and your car is green with pollen, you are likely already too late to get in with your allergist quickly. Don’t let this happen to you.

5. Spring Cleaning

This is an obligatory addition. I’m sure this was already on your mental list, but I needed to add it to the written list for accountability purposes. If you need some tips to get started, check out this oldie but goodie: 6 Tips for Spring Cleaning and Organizing
