We love Instagram’s fun, gorgeous photos and reels that inspire us all. Here is our list of some of our favorite local Black Mom Instagram accounts to follow. We love them and think you will too.

  1. Angelica Talan is a fun and down-to-earth travel and lifestyle blogger. If you don’t already follow her, stop and do it now.
  2. Simona Noce Wright is the co-founder of District Motherhued and exudes excellence, strength, and joy on Instagram. She is a must to follow!
  3. Krystin Hargrove is a local single mom, entrepreneur, and lover of travel. Stay in the know to all that she is up to on her IG account.
  4. The Funny Momma (Katryce) is perfect for laughs. Go give her a follow.
  5. Tawny Chatmon is a talented local photography-based artist residing in Maryland. Follow her on IG for inspo and updates.
  6. Euniquejg (Eunique Jones Gibson) is a local mom, creator, and influencer who has a pulse on culture.
  7. Chocl8fashpr (Nikki Osei-Barrett) is a local mom of three who also co-founded District Motherhued and The Momference (the conference for moms of color!).

  10. Mimi Cute Lips (Mimi Robinson) is a local mom, blogger, and podcast host at @mimisaidwhat.
  11. Antonia Michaela is a local mom, podcast host and founder of @momspaceco.
  12. 4DMVKids (Sarah Achors) is a local mom blogger who also founded Black Children’s Books.
  13. Kiara Pesante is an activist, leader, and part of @partyonthepotomac.
  14. Gallivant DMV (Cassandra Denise) inspires fun adventures for families on Instagram. Check her out — her page exudes joy!
  15. Polished Play House offers “ideas and interiors to inspire playful learning” — yes!
  16. Cleverly Changing (Elle Cole) is a local MD mom who shares about homeschooling, Sickle Cell Disease, and wonderful parenting wisdom.
  17. Ms News Lady (Jeannette Reyes) is a former news anchor and showcases must-see content on social media.
  18. It’s Summers Somewhere (Lisa Summers) is local, but shares travel tips near and far!
  19. Ebeth Johnson is a healthy mindful eating coach who also hosts classes. You can often find her on TV or working out on her Facebook feed.

Courtney was born and raised in Louisiana where she met her husband (married in 2005). They have moved several times, but finally feel very settled in NW DC after moving back in 2016. She has four energetic kids: Cormac (2010), Evangeline (2013), Solomon (2016), and Antoinette (2019). She thinks motherhood is absolutely wonderful, but is constantly trying to figure out how to manage it all. She spends her days talking Star Wars, playing with legos, doing crafts, having tea parties, and chasing her toddler. Motherhood is wonderful and wild and in 2017 she banded together with other mothers to start DC Area Moms to inspire, learn, and grow together. She loves morning coffee, chocolate, chatting with people since she's an extrovert, a clean house (which is rare these days). She dislikes when her kids don't listen the first time, she abhors littering, and doesn't enjoy shopping.
